Dysprosium oxide

(1) Dysprosium, as an activator of phosphor, is a promising activation ion of single luminescent center trichromatic phosphor. It is mainly composed of two emission bands, one is yellow emission, the other is blue emission. Dysprosium doped phosphor can be used as trichromatic phosphor.
(2) Dysprosium is a necessary metal raw material for the preparation of terbium dysprosium iron (Terfenol) alloy, which can realize some precise mechanical movements. (4) Dysprosium metal can be used as magneto-optical storage material with high recording speed and reading sensitivity.
(3) For the preparation of dysprosium lamp, the working substance used in dysprosium lamp is dysprosium iodide. This kind of lamp has the advantages of large brightness, good color, high color temperature, small volume, stable arc, etc. it has been used in film, printing and other lighting sources.
(4) Because dysprosium has a large neutron capture cross-sectional area, it is used in the atomic energy industry to determine the neutron spectrum or as a neutron absorber.
