Japanese lacquer pained Maki-e ballpoint pen
The decoration on the surface of this item is called "Maki-e".
"Maki-e" is a technique in which the sap of a precious tree called "Urushi" is applied and patterns are painted on it with gold leaf.

Here is a brief introduction to the production process.
1) Apply urushi lacquer according to the shape of the draft.
