Shu embroidery is a traditional embroidery in Sichuan, which is a national geographical indication product of China. Shu embroidery has a long history, Sichuan is the hometown of pandas, so Shu embroidery works often have panda patterns.
In 2016, Chengdu Shu Embroidery established a total of 11 production bases, 12 village (community) production workshops, 20 large-scale embroidery workshops, more than 100 family embroidery workshops, more than 700 cooperative members, and an average monthly income of over 3000 yuan for embroidery women. Since 2009, over 7320 embroiderers have been trained, with over 1500 embroiderers engaged in embroidery work for a long time. 476 embroiderers have obtained preliminary and intermediate vocational skill qualifications, and 5 provincial-level masters of arts and crafts, 12 municipal masters of arts and crafts, and 3 municipal inheritors of Shu embroidery have been newly cultivated and introduced. A talent pool of embroiderers at various levels, including high, medium, and low, has been established, providing sufficient talent for the sustainable development of the Shu embroidery industry.
