What is SMC?
SMC is short for Sheet Moulding Compound. It is the combination of fiberglass, unsaturated resin and other fillers in the form of sheet. Processing SMC by compression moulding could produce all kinds of products, such as sanitary ware, building material, electrical or electronic machine housings, indoor & outdoor facilities, etc.
What are the main materials of SMC?
· Non - alkali fiber glass
· Unsaturated resin
· Alumiunum hydroxide
· Curing agent
· Color paste, etc.
What are the main advantages of SMC Shower Base?
· Higher strength than both Ploymarble and acrylic but lighter. Can withstand high levels of weight with no support needed. The void around the outlet (hole) is no longer a concern for installation.
· High temperature endurable, will not crack, discolor, de-laminate or bow.
· Moisture resistant.
· Corrosion resistant.
· Electricity insulated.
· Long service life, none of the problems that occur with Polymarble and Acrylic shower bases.
· No need to install on slurry. Although it is still recommended (10mm) to help with leveling of the base. Silicone or similar adhesive can be used.
