1. General Description of Vacuum Tray Dryer/ Vacuum Drying Oven

Vacuum drying is drying material in vacuum condition. Vacuum pump is used for exhausting air and humidity, so that in the working chamber is vacuum state. And at the same time, the moisture that volatilized from material is exhausted out by vacuum pump, so the drying speed is faster and can save more energy. In the dryer, there is no temperature in the top and bottom. Following are characteristics of the vacuum dryer:
1. Top is circular arc structure, it can avoid the steam droplets fall down to material.
2. It is suitable for drying materials that state is unstable or heat sensitivity materials.
3. It is suitable materials that when recovering solvent and drying will produce poisonous and thrill gas.
4. It is static state drying, so the form and structure will not be destroyed.
5. This equipment can adopt steam for sterilization and disinfection.
6. This equipment has four vacuum orifice, they can ensure the uniformity of drying.

2. Structure of Vacuum Tray Dryer/ Vacuum Drying Oven

1. Inner wall and outer wall of drying chamber are both made of SUS304, Inner wall δ=2mm, full welded and polished, and adopts circular arc transition. In the middle is 80mm heat preservation layer. Outer wall δ=2mm, full welded and polished.
2. Heating pipe isф18×2 stainless steel pipe.
3. One set stainless steel baking frame.
4.  The size of standard stainless steel tray is 640*460*45mm.
5. Safety valve, sight glass and temperature gauge each 1set.
6. Stainless steel flange and hand shank, each 1set
7.  Vacuum system consists of water-ring type vacuum pump and stainless steel buffer tank
8. Heating medium can be hot water, steam, or thermal oil
9. If organic solvent recovery is needed, condenser will be equipped.

In the flow charts above, the heating source is hot water.  The heating source also can be thermal oi or steam. There is no organic solvent recovery system (Condenser) in the first flow chart, and there is organic solvent recovery system (Condenser) in the second flow chart.

3. Application of Vacuum Tray Dryer/ Vacuum Drying Oven

This machine is mainly used for drying fruits, vegetables, Chinese medicine extract, heat sensitivity materials such as explosive, the materials that state is not stable and shape is easy to be destroyed, the materials that need to recover organic solvent such as ethanol, etc.
When drying fruits, compare with freeze dryer and belt dryer, the equipment investment of vacuum dryer is low. And during the drying process, the fruits are not easy to change color, and nutrition loss is little. And the machine features small occupied area, easy to operate and clean, and low energy consumption, so in the Southeast Asian countries this machine is widely used in fruits drying industry.
