Subject matter: In August 2019, in order to better stabilize product quality and improve production efficiency, our company proposed to Zhejiang Zhongyan a process requirement to replace Xiongshi (red old version) offset printing with intaglio printing.
Reason: The Lion (red old version) printing process is single concave after offset printing, resulting in low yield and time-consuming work. In addition, the printing color is unstable and prone to explosive ink. If changed to gravure printing, the printing process can be completed in one go on the gravure printing machine, improving yield, efficiency, and color difference stability (which can solve the problem of milk yellow color difference). If the hot stamping machine is connected to the circular press at the back, it is more stable and efficient, which can significantly improve the speed of drum die-cutting and hot stamping. In this way, not only can the above problems be improved, but also costs can be reduced and quality can be stabilized.
Process: In October 2019, we communicated with the Zhejiang Tobacco Technology Center about the change from offset printing to gravure printing of the Xiongshi (old red version). China Tobacco Technology Center agreed with the intaglio printing samples, but the flow frequency was poor and the handwriting was not clear enough. We hope to make improvements in the subsequent sampling process. The China Tobacco Technology Center will prepare relevant reports internally and send them to the Materials Department and suppliers, so that everyone can understand the changes in Xiongshi (old red version) from offset printing to gravure printing.
Result: In 2020, Lion (Red Old Edition) successfully transitioned from offset printing to gravure printing, with the following advantages: 1. The color of gravure printing is stable, and the ink is not explosive. 2. Intaglio printing is one less direct printing and polishing process than offset printing. 3. Gravure printing production speed is fast. 4. It is expected that the yield will increase by around 0.5-1.0%.

Our company has internationally advanced printing production line equipment, including Italy ROTOSTAR seven color gravure printing, Italy CERUTTI eight color gravure printing, Germany Heidelberg CE/MT102-6+1 offset printing, Germany Heidelberg 7+1 offset printing, Germany Heidelberg 9+1 offset printing and screen printing production lines. The post-press processing equipment includes more than ten sets of post-press production machines, including CERUTTI slitting machine, Swiss BOBST820 roll mold machine, Swiss BOBST102 hot mold machine, and domestic first-class hot mold equipment such as Youheng and Bisheng, as well as Swiss BOBST box pasting machine. Quality testing equipment includes: American color difference tester CE7000A, British tear force tester, friction tester, and other testing equipment. We also have a complete sterile testing room and a CNAS national quality inspection laboratory to strengthen quality monitoring in all aspects to ensure that all quality and hygiene indicators of our products meet industry and national standards.
