Gravure printing - Currently, more than 90% of cigarette packaging printing in China is mainly based on mountain printing, and the gravure printing technology and process have also become mature. In the field of cigarette packaging printing, four plate printing has many advantages, such as high production efficiency, good color consistency, good adaptability of printing materials, and excellent performance in field, spot color, gold (silver) ink printing, etc. It can meet strict requirements for cigarette packaging quality. Gravure printing machines have become a common choice for cigarette packaging printing enterprises. In addition, the quality inspection of cigarette packaging printing materials will further reflect the printing odor, packaging machine adaptability, color fading, environmental friendliness, and other aspects, in which the four printing processes also have advantages over other printing processes.

Offset printing - The offset printing process has a standardized and data-driven method for reproducing printed materials with rich levels of gradation. However, cigarette packaging printing is not only a reproduction of product tones, but also involves a large number of spot color reproduction, requiring high color stability. Offset printing is limited in cigarette packaging printing.

In order to meet the needs of cigarette packaging printing, UV technology transformation has been implemented for the offset printing machine. UV offset printing fundamentally solves the problems of ink adhesion, friction resistance, and dryness on composite paper prints. The photosensitizers in UV ink interact with each other to form a network structure under the irradiation of light, greatly improving the physical properties of the ink layer surface. Enterprises have started using offset UV ink to print fine sand, gold, silver, and other processes that are difficult to achieve in ordinary offset printing.

Flexographic printing - For cigarette packs that primarily consist of color blocks, lines, or medium to dark tones, the flexographic printing process can be used. Firstly, most of the narrow width flexographic printing machines introduced in China have "6+1" color decks, with the last color deck used for polishing, which can enhance the advantages of flexographic printing in spot color printing; Secondly, currently, domestic flexographic plate making factories have developed an effective method for flexographic plate making, which can basically meet the requirements of gradient printing. Appropriate process changes and combinations are suitable and beneficial, but too many can easily affect the production process and print quality. For example, some cigarette labels that use combination processes are very beautiful during sampling, but once put into large-scale production, it is difficult to maintain relatively stable quality.
