He said that the performance of the textile and garment industry is expected to maintain a good momentum, mainly because the sales of e-commerce platforms have grown rapidly, and consumers' awareness of the use of sustainable principles in the production process of imitation goods, which is in line with the production process. commitment to reduce carbon emissions and water use.

In terms of commodities, the textile and garment industry encourages the use of environmentally friendly raw materials and the application of circular economy principles to achieve sustainability principles.

Agus emphasized that the implementation of the comprehensive roadmap for the fourth industrial revolution (Making Indonesia 4.0) in Indonesia will promote the transformation of the textile industry, enhance its competitiveness and enhance innovation, so as to meet the needs of the global market.

In order to accelerate the implementation of the fourth industrial revolution, the textile industry will use several key technologies to win the global competition. These include artificial intelligence, novel fabrics, the Internet of Things (IoT), fast data analysis for rapid adaptation, mobile commerce, virtual and augmented reality (VR), 3D printing, blockchain and sustainability, among others.

In addition, the Indonesian Ministry of Industry announced a 35% substitution strategy for imported products in 2022, which is intended to encourage the use of domestic products and promote investment. The Indonesian Ministry of Industry has also implemented a machinery and equipment restructuring plan for the fabric execution industry and the fabric printing industry.

The Ministry of Agus mentioned the feasibility of building a textile ecosystem in the country, striving to achieve the goal of making Indonesia one of the top five textile producing countries in the world.
