Describe |
---|
ACETYLNEURAMINIC ACID is an important component of biofilms, commonly known as cell "antennas". Most of them are combined with membrane proteins and distributed on the surface of the plasma membrane to form a layer of polysaccharide-protein complexes. The level of N-acetylneuraminic acid in the body will decrease with age, and its content will also decrease while exerting various physiological activities (scavenging ROS, anti-glycation, ganglioside synthesis, etc.). Lack of N-acetylneuraminic acid reduces the production of glycosphingolipids, inhibits normal cell activity, and affects tissue function. Therefore, the supplementation of exogenous N-acetylneuraminic acid is very important. |
